Rik Marselis is one of Sogeti’s most senior Management Consultants, with 35 years of experience in the IT industry. Since 1998 Rik focuses on quality and testing. As a test consultant and test manager he assisted various organizations in improving the quality of their IT-systems and the way these systems support the business processes.
Rik regularly contributes to the testing field through research and development. He is a fellow in Sogeti's research network, SogetiLabs, and has contributed to a variety of articles and books on quality and testing. His most recent publications include ‘TMap HD’, 'The PointZERO vision', 'Quality Supervision', ‘Integrate Test Activities in Agile Projects’ and 'TPI NEXT'.
Currently he is investigating the consequences of robotics on the quality & testing profession. Both in the sense of "how to test a robot" as in "how to use a robot for testing".
Rik is an accredited trainer for TMap-, TPI- and ISTQB certification training courses and has created and delivered many bespoke workshops and training courses on test engineering and test management.
An experienced presenter at conferences throughout Europe, Rik's presentations are always appreciated for their liveliness, his ability to keep the talks serious but light, and his use of practical examples with humorous comparisons.
Next to his work at Sogeti Rik is the chairman of the independent association of testers in the Netherlands, called TestNet.
