Rik Marselis is one of Sogeti’s most senior Management Consultants, with experience in the IT industry since 1980. Rik focuses on quality and testing. As a coach, consultant and test manager he assisted many organizations in improving the quality of their IT-systems and the way these systems support the business processes.
Rik regularly contributes to the testing field through research and development.
He is a fellow in Sogeti's research network, SogetiLabs, and has contributed to a variety of articles and books on quality and testing. His most recent publications include 'Testing in the digital age', ‘TMap HD’, 'The PointZERO vision', 'Quality Supervision', ‘Integrate Test Activities in Agile Projects’ and 'TPI NEXT'. Currently he is investigating the consequences of artificial intelligence and robotics on the quality & testing profession. This relates to both "testing OF intelligent machines" and "testing WITH intelligent machines".
Rik is an accredited trainer for TMap-, TPI- and ISTQB certification training courses and has created and delivered many bespoke workshops and training courses on test engineering and test management.
An experienced presenter at conferences throughout Europe, Rik's presentations are always appreciated for their liveliness, his ability to keep the talks serious but light, and his use of practical examples with humorous comparisons. Next to his work at Sogeti, since 2003 Rik is an active volunteer for TestNet, the independent association of testers in the Netherlands. Also Rik is a workgroup member (and former boardmember) of ISTQB.
